If you are looking for adventure in 2020 it is best to hop in the car, head off on your bike or put on your walking shoes and head to the great outdoors. You should take the scenic route whilst heading to your destination and enjoy the drive. If you don’t have a vehicle then you can always lease a car that is suitable for you and your family.
There are many drives to enjoy in the UK that offer an amazing journey with breathtaking destinations, here are three that you should consider.
Snake Pass
This 24-mile pass in the Peak District is a long and winding road known for its windy conditions. The route should be driven slowly so that you can take in the amazing scenery. Its steep roads give clear views of the flat moorlands below but can be dangerously slippery in poor weather. If you are planning on travelling this winter, then check if the road is open before you go as it is often closed at this time of year.
Glasgow to Fort Williams
A dangerously beautiful 108 mile drive through Scotland, this will take you about 2.5 hours unless the roads are busy! Warning – don’t try and overtake as these roads are not safe to do so.
The route from Glasgow to Fort Williams offers plenty of stopping points for you to take in the views of waterfalls and mountains and if you fancy a walk, you’re in look. Luss Village is a must see but is very popular so you may need to park on the bank of Loch Lomond. If you prefer a longer walk, then try Ben Vane which is great for hiking.
Capel Curig to Llanberis
The shortest drive in our selection at 22 miles is through a Welsh pass that resembles a lunar appearance. In fact, this pass has been on our screens several times in adverts, even one with Sir Bradley Wiggins.
The rugged landscape has been shaped by the extreme weather conditions and is popular with rock climbers. When driving through this breathtaking pass, be sure to look out for the steep Crib Goch which is a sight to behold in Snowdonia.
There are plenty more dangerous drives to enjoy in the UK, but these are out top three. You can share your experiences with us on social using #UKDangerousDrives.
