Lucy Liu was all radiant as she made her way to the 2016 American Theatre Wing Gala in a floral mini dress. The Gala held at The Plaza Hotel in NYC on Monday, honored Cicely Tyson.
The 47 year old actress exuded confidence and glamour in her floral print dress. It was a one shouldered gown in which Liu posed on the red carpet creating nothing less than a storm. The exquisite pink gown presented a floral design. It also featured a tight waist.
The stunner with raven hair had chosen to wear natural colors. With her floral pink dress, Liu chose to wear a n*de pink lipstick and coupled it with mascara lashings and eye liner.
The hair of the famous actress was swept backwards into a very classy bun as well as a side split. Her glowing complexion and radiant skin were also visible. The event in New York paid tribute to Tyson who was in Broadway with James Earl Jones for the reversal of ‘The Gin Game.’
It was announced that the money raised through the annual event will be used for providing support to the Wing’s programs. A statement released recently said that The Wing’s programs celebrate and support theatre in America and also ensure that the new generation is also interested in the stage, its workings and the maneuverings behind the stage.
Lucy Liu was born in December 1968. She is an actress, a voice artist, producer, director and singer from the US. Her first claim to fame was a role in TV series Ally McBeal which aired from 1998 to 2002.
Liu was nominated for an Emmy award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for playing Ling Woo in Ally McBeal. She has also lent her voice to the TV series ‘Kung Fu Panda’ which has been on-air since 2008. She plays the character of ‘Master Viper.’
Liu also appeared in the comedy drama ‘Cashmere Mafia’ by ABC, in 2008. The series ended only after one season. It was one of those American series that featured an Asian in the lead.
Later in 2012 Lucy Liu became a cast member of ‘Southland’ – a TNT series. She was playing the role of Jessica Tang. She won a ‘Critics choice award’ for this role.
Liu is currently part of the TV series ‘Elementary’ in which she plays the role of Joan Watson. The series in inspired by Sherlock Holmes.
