Kate Upton says that Ashley Graham SI cover will open up the way for other plus size models
When it comes to posing for the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated, Kate Upton already knows a lot. Upton was the ‘Rookie of the Year’ of Sports Illustrated magazine for the year 2011. She was also featured on the cover of the same magazine in 2012 and 13.
Having asked about Ashley Graham being featured on the latest Swimsuit issue of the magazine, Upton said that she was extremely excited about Graham’s debut.

Kate Upton said that Ashley Graham is absolutely stunning. Upton did make it clear that all the cover girls are beautiful but the great thing about Sports Illustrated is that it features all kinds of female bodies which is all the more important because all types of girls see these pictures.
Kate Upton further stated that it is a great achievement on the part of ‘Sports Illustrated’ that it makes every woman look great in a bikini. Kate Upton is of the opinion that Ashley Graham’s debut on SI Swimsuit cover will pave the way for other plus size models to appear on the cover of the magazine leading to its widespread acceptance of women who are not thin.
Kate Upton said:
“No one should be labeled by their body size at all.”
Model Ashley Graham has also appeared on the cover of the Maxim. Some of the fans think that the image of the model had been engineered in order to render the model thinner than actual, however, all these allegations were put to rest by the snapper Gilles Bensimon.
Bensimon wrote on Instagram that no slimmering of the model’s image had been carried out. He added that the the picture hadn’t been photoshopped either.
Ashley Graham is obviously very proud of being the first curvy woman to adorn the front cover of Maxim. She reiterated the fact that the photograph hadn’t been slimmered.
Ashley Graham is an American lingerie model for plus size clothing. She has appeared on the cover of several fashion magazines including Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour and Elle.
She has also been part of many Levi’s campaigns. She recently became the first plus size model to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
