Vitamins are a group of organic molecules which are needed for a proper cell function, growth and development of a body.
We all are aware of the vitamins right from our childhood. As our parents use to tell us about the importance of vitamins. Now we get to realise that our parents were absolutely right as now we get to read so much about vitamins in our school books and magazines. Without the help of vitamins, we can’t get the full power of our body, mentally and physically.
The easiest way to get vitamins is through the food we eat daily. Vitamins help in boosting the immune system, healing wounds, improve the eyesight, give strengths to our bones, and it also helps our body in squeezing the complete energy from the daily food.
There are two types of vitamins , and they are as follow :-
- Water-soluble vitamins : This is a type of vitamin which can easily be dissolved in water. They are carried to the body’s tissues but they are not stored in the body. They are found in plant and animal foods. they are essential and must be taken in daily life.
- Fat-soluble vitamins: This is a type of vitamin which can easily be dissolved in fats and oils. These are absorbed from the fatty foods and are stored in the body’s fatty tissues. They are easily found in plant and animal foods.
In these two types of vitamins, there are 13 important vitamins namely, Vitamins B and C ( water-soluble vitamins ) and Vitamins A, D, E and K ( fat-soluble vitamins ) . Let us discuss all of the important vitamins which are essential in our daily life, just in brief –
Vitamin A
This vitamin helps in keeping healthy skin and good hair. Our eyesight is also improved from this vitamin. But the overdose of this vitamin may be harmful to us.
Vitamin B
In this vitamin there are eight other B Vitamins, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12 and they are all very important in regulating our body properly. Among all these eight types, vitamins B12 is the most important B Vitamin. The B Vitamins also helps in reducing stress and stressful situations and this makes them important for our nervous system.
Vitamin C
This is one of the most important vitamins which our body needs. It fights against the nasty colds. It helps in boosting our immune system by protecting it from free radicals. Vitamin C is responsible for our healthy heart.
Vitamin D
It helps in absorbing the calcium from the foods. It helps in increasing the strength of our bones. If we don’t get this vitamin in the proper amount, our bones may become soft and then there are more chances of getting injured. We can get this vitamin easily just by going out in sunlight.
Vitamin E
This is another important vitamin which pre-checks the infection and alerts the cells so they can start there healing process on the perfect time. So, this means that a lack of Vitamin E can make attacks from all types of diseases.
Vitamin K
It plays a major role in the human body which requires the vitamin for complete in the synthesis of few proteins which are needed for blood clot, which helps in preventing excessive bleeding. If we don’t have enough Vitamin K, we may bleed too much.
