How To Easily Connect Your TV With Your Laptop

Reliving joyous moments and re-watching your birthday video on the small laptop screen is not as much of a delight as on a big screen. The small screen dulls the life, the colors, and the whole essence of the memories preserved in the electronic media. Such a shortcoming of our portable computational devices compels us to search for ways to have a better viewing experience.

connect tv with laptop

One of the ways that can amplify our amusement and entertainment includes the connection of a laptop to a TV and with the wireless earphones. And the best part is, you do not even need to purchase a Smart TV for this purpose. Using the methods mentioned below, one can easily connect the TV with a laptop and enjoy great quality video and audio.

Method 1 – Connection Via HDMI

Perhaps, the connection of Laptop with the TV via HDMI is the most convenient and economical option as every TV model contains an HDMI port. Also, HDMI provides high-quality visuals and audio in comparison to other methods.

To connect your laptop to HDMI, connect the HDMI cable to both TV and Laptop. Then, turn both the devices and select the HDMI input on the TV. The data on the laptop will automatically display on the TV screen. In case, nothing appears on the screen, go to the control panel of the TV and adjust the resolution as well as other settings.

Method 2- Connection Via VGA

People with an older TV model can opt for a VGA connection. Similar to an HDMI cable, you will have to turn both the devices on(Laptop and TV) and connect the VGA cable. However, VGA only displays video so you will have to plug in an audio jack (3.5 mm). You can even connect external speakers for the augmented audio system instead of an audio jack. If the desired visuals do not appear on the TV screen, follow the same procedure as for HDMI cable. Go to the control panel of the TV and adjust the resolution. Also, check whether you have selected TV on display.

Method 3- Connection Via USB

Usually, the connection between TV and Laptop is not possible through USB. However, today’s technology provides us with a solution to every single problem. Thus, you can connect both devices via USB by using a USB-HDMI adapter. The adapter results in an HDMI output, hence you can enjoy the quality provided by an HDMI cable while using a USB. However, before purchasing a USB-HDMI adapter, check whether it is compatible or not. To connect, first, install an adapter software on your laptop and connect the adapter as well as both the TV and Laptop.

Method 4- Connection Via External Hard Drive

With a high storage capacity, the external hard drive is a portable device that you can connect to your TV via the USB port. The external hard drive may even be connected to the TV without a cable, wirelessly. Almost all the TV models, being manufactured nowadays have a USB port. So it is quite unlikely that this method may be infeasible for you.

To transfer video, audio, and images from your laptop, you will need to copy the desired files to the USB drive. But before that, you must ensure that the file format is compatible with the model of your TV. Next, insert the external hard drive into the TV. Then, select the USB channel and enjoy the transferred files. You may not need to connect the external hard drive via a cable or port if it operates wirelessly.

Method 5- Wireless Connection

The wireless connection method eliminates the need for an unnecessary wire between your laptop and television. And it’s not even limited to a single app or system. There are various ways to link your portable computational device to TV wirelessly. You can connect the two through WiDi (Intel Wireless Display), which is a built-in wireless system in some laptops.

Other than that, several wireless systems enable the connection between the two devices. Recent models of televisions support this method. Even a mid-range LED TV in Pakistan comes with an HDMI port where the wireless system can be connected. While in the laptop, the wireless system connects through the USB port. However, the video quality may depreciate if you use this method.

A cheap alternative to this wireless solution is Google Chromecast. It even allows you to visit websites, view images, and stream videos.

Try out the above-listed methods to extend your range of accessibility and enhancing your lifestyle with convenience.  However, the connection between Laptop and TV may become swift and convenient with the availability of an LED TV as it offers several connectivity ways. An array of LED TV in Pakistan is available so that every consumer can benefit from it and add in feasibility to their lifestyle.
