Michael Jackson Court Case

There is no denying the impact Michael Jackson had on the musical world. However, he was also known for being seen in court cases several times. After being accused of a certain incident with a 13-year-old boy, he was found guilty on several different accounts. These allegations were concerning child sexual abuse and other child-related incidents in June of 2005. It was a back and forth battle between truths and lies as movies and documentaries were produced concerning it. It was nationally televised and became the talk of America. Few questioned the truth of the event as Jackson had been accused of doing such things before.

Conrad Murray

Another court case related to Michael Jackson is the one surrounding his death. He was not found guilty in this one though, his personal physician Conrad Murray was. Murray had administered a heavy dose of propofol to Jackson. He stated that Jackson insisted he give it to him since nothing else was helping him sleep. It’s a drug that is normally only given to patients at clinics or hospitals, and the giver must have extensive training in that field when administering it. Jackson was at home, and Murray did not have the proper credentials to give the drug to him. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter in November of 2011 and given a sentence of four years.

O.J. Simpson Court Case

One of America’s most famous court case is that of The People of the State of California vs. Orenthal James Simpson. The entire nation had their eyes on the trial of the former NFL running back. No one could believe what was happening. Simpson was arrested and charged with murdering his ex-wife and her friend and was caught during a police chase days after their killings. The court case received so much media attention though, that several delays occurred causing the entire thing to span about eleven months.

Witnesses started talking to the press, meaning their testimonies were not viable in court anymore. One of the biggest takeaways though was that a glove found at the scene of the murders did not fit O.J., coining the famous phrase, “It doesn’t fit, you must acquit.” Simpson was finally declared not guilty on both accounts in October 1995. The country was torn on the verdict, as some believed him to be guilty and others thought he was innocent. Every part of the case was televised for the entire public to see and hear.

Lori Loughlin

A more recent court case involves one of America’s beloved actresses who seemed to have everything together. Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were recently tried and found guilty of being a part of a large nationwide college admissions scandal. They had donated money to an organization that was only a front for bribing the college to allow their daughters to attend. She was sentenced to two months in prison and will pay a hefty fine, as well as serve a hundred hours of community service.

While everyone has dreamed of being popular and famous at some point in time, it isn’t always the life it seems to be. The celebrity spotlight is bright, but it will show the bad and not just the good.
