26 year old bachelor Ben Higgins was not sure about his final choice regarding his future life partner. There were two finalists in the reality TV show; 25 year old Lauren Bushnell, and 24 year old JoJo Fletcher.
Higgins had previously admitted that he loved both of them. His parents had flown in from Jamaica in order to attend the Bachelor season finale 2016.
Ben Higgins’ mother said that she was really disturbed by the fact that her son was simultaneously in love with two different women. Before the Bachelor finale 2016, Higgins had gone on a last date with Bushnell. When he left her, he stated that despite whatever happened in the end, she had made him a better person.
This statement from Higgins became the reason for an uncertainty about whom he will choose in the end. Higgins, however, made up his mind before the season finale. When he proposed Bushnell, Fletcher was disappointed.
Despite this, she seemed happy for the couple. Higgins proposal was accompanied by an engagement ring from Neil Lane worth around 100,000 dollars.
Higgins also received blessings from Bushnell’s father on telephone.
At the finale, Higgins blurted his heart out to Bushnell:
“I want to wake up every morning and kiss you on the face. I want to go to bed at night and know that in the morning, I’m gonna wake up to the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.”
He further added that when he came into the show, he had felt undesired and unloved. He thought he will never be able to find someone who would love him. And then he had found the one woman he was made for.
JoJo Fletcher, a real estate developer based in Texas is chosen for the season 12 of The Bachelorette. Fletcher will be allowed to pick one eligible bachelor in the show which will start in May 23rd.
